Chromatrap®’s Negative Primer Set 1 recognizes the hypomethylated protein-coding gene UBE2B, this will not be picked up by methylation study assays. A 177 base pair fragment is amplified by this primer set. The enzyme that this gene encodes is required for DNA damage repair after replication has occurred.
It is a negative gene target for 5-methylcytosine.
