Background Info

Mouse adenoviruses are double stranded DNA viruses of the family Adenoviridae, genus Mastadenovirus. The virus is a nonenveloped, regular icosahedron with a diameter of 70-90 nm. Transmission of the virus occurs through close or direct contact. FL-1 can be shed in urine for up to 2 years post infection. Experimental infection of suckling mice causes necrosis of the kidney, heart, spleen, and brain. Mice and rats appear to be the only hosts of the virus.
